7 More Ways To Increase CTR

September 22, 2007

As an adsense publisher you should know by now that CTR or click through rate is an important component of your adsense earnings. Simply put, the CTR is the percentage of users that click on the ads displayed to them on the page. In other words they click through to the advertiser's site from the ad displayed on your web page. In essence, your CTR tells you what your conversion rate is. Ads are displayed in order to offer more information to a user whom would be interested in the content of the page on which the ad is displayed.

Google pays you for your efforts in sending visitors to their advertisers using adwords via your site which you display using the adsense program. There are other pay per click or ppc programs too and they use pretty much the same methods as Google. For you to earn more you would ultimately need a higher CTR and more traffic. Google describes the CTR as follows:

In AdSense publisher reports, clickthrough rate (CTR) is the number of clicks an ad receives divided by the number of times the ad, ad unit, or page is shown, depending on the type of impressions you're viewing.

I came across an adsense article on a blog that shows you 7 ways to increase your CTR. As an adsense publisher you should always be looking for ways to improve your CTR. Read the article here and feel free to share your thoughts and comments.

Hope this post was of help to you!
